MATCH REPORT: ABERYSTWYTH TOWN WOMEN FC 1 CARDIFF MET WFC 0

There was no time for much rest as the First Team were back in midweek action, welcoming Cardiff Met to Park Avenue in what was an important game between the league's two bottom teams.

The previous meeting ended in a 0-0 stalemate, but Aber went into this game knowing that a win could take them four points clear of Met, something that could prove crucial come the end of the season.

The only goal of the game came in the 12th minute when Jess Baker smashed a left-footed shot home after a cracking ball in from Libby Isaac. For the most part, Aber stifled Met's attack, and also had a number of good chances of their own to make it a more comfortable result. In the end, Aber had to settle for the slender victory - however, three points are three points, and they definitely taste even sweeter having waited a while for them!

A huge thank you to our mascots from the Swansea City AFC Foundation's PL Kicks Aberystwyth session, as well as to our Match Sponsor, Bryn Villa Holiday Cottage - congratulations to Shauna Chambers who was selected as their Player of the Match.
