The sides have already met twice this season, with Ferry taking all three points on both occasions, but with Aber already adding three new faces in recent weeks, we could well be in for a different match this weekend.
This is the hosts first season in the JD Cymru Premier following promotion from the JD Cymru North, although one of their previous incarnations Briton Ferry Athletic spent four seasons in the then League of Wales in the 1990’s and merged with Llansawel in 2009 to form the current club. They have so far amassed 22 points from 23 games and come into this match on the back of a 2-2 draw at Newtown, secured by former Seasider Luke Bowen who netted the equaliser on 69 minutes. Bowen, along with Thomas Walters, is the hosts top scorer this season. Both players have netted 6 times so far this season.
With only 9 games left, this game could prove to be significant for Aber as a win would take Antonio Corbisiero’s side within 5 points of both Briton Ferry and safety, with 8 games remaining after this one.
Briton Ferry Llansawel’s Old Road ground can be found by following postcode SA11 2HA. As Phase Two continues, the Green Army are needed more than ever to get behind the lads!
