MATCH PREVIEW: ABERYSTWYTH TOWN V FLINT TOWN

It is another Friday night under the lights at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue, as Flint Town United visit Ceredigion for ATFC’s penultimate home game of the season.

Although last weekend's defeat to Briton Ferry Llansawel confirmed that Aber will play in Tier 2 next season, there are still three matches to play this campaign and the Black & Greens will be eager to finish the season with their heads held high as the club departs the Cymru Premier after 33 fantastic years.

Friday’s visitors need one more win to be certain of their place in next season's top tier, having amassed 33 points from 29 games so far this season, in their first campaign back in the Cyrmu Premier following promotion last year.

With 8 goals so far, Elliot Reeves has been the player to watch for Flint this season, particularly since Florian Yonsian departed in December having netted 7 goals himself. Former ATFC loanee Harry Owen has also contributed 5, including a hat-trick against Briton Ferry in February.

Owen is not the only former Seasider in Lee Fowler’s squad this season – midfielder Ben Wynne was a popular player during his brief spell in Ceredigion back in 2022 before departing for Caernarfon Town that summer.

Flint have won all three games between the two teams so far this season, but last time they visited Park Avenue under the Friday night lights, a special goal from Jonathan Evans secured all three points for the Black & Greens back in 2023. The Green Army will be hoping for similar this time around!

Matchday tickets are available by cash or card at the turnstiles. Admission prices at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue for 2024/5 are set at £8 for adults, £5 for concessions, £2 for Secondary School age kids, and Primary School and younger are free.
