As the matchday programme went to press we were told the sad news about the death of Geraint Jenkins. As well as being one of the giants of the academic world here in Wales, Geraint was one of the stars of Aberystwyth Town Football Club during a very bright period for the Club.
Geraint played a total of 65 matches for the Black & Green first eleven from 1963 to 1973, scoring 20 goals in the process. As a 17 year old forward during the 1963-64 season, he netted a hat-trick in the club's 6-2 victory over Garw Welfare in the 4th Round of the Welsh Amateur Cup.
