Aberystwyth Ladies 2-2 Wrexham Ladies
Women's Welsh Premier
Park Avenue
Sun 28th March, ko 2.00
A jaded first half brought goals for Wrexham on 5mins and 27mins from numbers 11 and 8, with Aber going in at the break 2-0 down in a must win game. Aber then suffered another set back when centre back Sam Lumb went off injured, being replaced by Stephanie Land which turned out to be the turning point of the game. Ray Hughes switched the formation to include Steph on the wing to form a more attacking line up which paid off. On the hour mark Steph crossed the ball in for the impressive Melanie Davies to drill home. Then on 69 minutes a good ball into the box saw Steph get a foot to it at the back post to make it 2-2. Gemma Fraser was then introduced up front with Aber having a good foot hold on the game. Despite more attacking pressure from Aber with Gemma, Mel and Leanne Bray seeing their shots go wide the third goal did not come.
